BY (REV.) JOSEPH C. BOOTH.
A strange phenomenon entranced the night!
It was the "Star of Bethlehem," whose sheen
By Caspar, Melchior, Balthasar was seen
'T was in the East the Magi saw the sight,
And they, that sat in darkness, traced the light;
To far Jerusalem, with sacred mien,
They went, to bless the "New-born" King and lean
In worship at His feet, with soul-de-light!
Then, from Jerusalem to Bethlehem,
Went forth the star-led, wise-astrologer,
Exceeding joyful, though of weary limb.
They saw their King—in Glory's Diadem!
Presented Him gold, frankincense and myrrh
And prostrate at His feet they worshiped Him!
