"Ring in the New" by Frances V. Hubbard (1920)

Ring in the New.

BY FRANCES V. HUBBARD.

The Christmas bells ring "Peace on earth,"

And far and wide the tale is told,

The story of the Savior's birth,

The story ever new, though old.

The bells they ring and glad hearts sing,

"Ring in the new, ring out the old."

Ring in the day when war shall cease,

Ring in the time when nations all,

Bound by a tie of Right and Peace,

Shall place War's creed beyond recall,

And, as they swing, those bells shall ring,

"The Prince of Peace reigns over all."

Ring in the Right, ring out the Wrong,

That, on this happy Christmas morn,

More true than e'er before this song,

"To-day the Prince of Peace is born."

Bells, ring and swing and glad hearts sing,

"To-day the Prince of Peace is born."

Troy Times. December 24, 1920: 7 col 1.
